One day a gentle lady
came to my clinic and spoke to me, Hakim Sahib! I want to lose my weight. Please
suggest some treatment.
I checked her pulse and said, "Your
treatment is not good with medicines, you should walk to lose your weight."
She replied, “I have
already walking a lot. Throughout the day, I remain busy to complete my daily
chores, which certainly needs walking. I also visit to market twice a week but
the weight is still increasing. Even with so much walking, only medication can
be cured, so give me prescription please to lose my weight.”
I replied to the lady, doing domestic chores
does not fall into the workout category.”
According to my
experience, 5% of fat men and women suffer from the same misconception that their
weight should not be increases just as they walk or move for their daily
activities. They think this walk is enough to keep the weight off. They should
think so, why would they gain weight if they had enough mobility? From home to
the yard, to walking to the store or to the bathroom. And walk around the
kitchen, don't get praised for walking. Walking means regular walking for at
least 5 minutes daily. If you walk six times a week six times a week with full devotion
and determination, then your activity will be called exercise and it will only
benefit you.
